Ages: 6-14
Cost: $255 / $230 for members of either Wilson Arts or Imagination Station
Wilson Arts is thrilled to partner with Imagination Station to offer an exciting full-day summer camp experience that blends science and the arts with these STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) options! This collaborative option is perfect for kids who enjoy variety in their day and a change of environment.
Morning Session: Ancient Engineering at Imagination Station
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Step back in time and discover the wonders of Ancient Engineering! In this hands-on STEM camp, students will explore how civilizations survived and thrived without modern technology. How did humans build structures in the Stone Age? When did Romans develop running water for their cities? Why did engineers in India create catapults? Working in teams, campers will tackle creative challenges using simple tools to find solutions just like ancient innovators.
Lunch Break: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
At noon, staff will escort students to Wilson Arts Center for Lunch Bunch. Students must bring their own lunch and drink.
Afternoon Sessions: Creative Exploration at Wilson Arts
Younger students (ages 6-7):
Once Upon a Fairytale at the Boykin Center
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Younger campers will step into the world of storytelling, bringing their favorite storybook characters to life onstage. Through creative play and performance, they will embark on an exciting adventure of their own making.
Older students (ages 8+):
Artists’ Playground at the Wilson Arts Center
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Instructor: Maddie Murphy
Older students will dive into a world of artistic exploration, experimenting with drawing techniques and playful painting. This camp is perfect for beginners eager to try different mediums, as well as experienced young artists looking to refine their skills and discover new creative approaches.
This full-day camp provides a dynamic mix of STEM and the arts, keeping campers engaged with hands-on learning and creative expression—all within a short walk between Wilson Arts and Imagination Station!
Registration is currently open to those who are current Wilson Arts and/or Imagination Station members. Registration opens to the public on March 4. Visit www.wilsonarts.com/camps to register and pay online.
