January 18 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 pm

Family fun day - Second Science Saturday Wilson watersheds and endangered species

Where does rain go after it falls to the ground? Find out during this Saturday family fun day as we learn about Wilson’s watersheds. Discover why knowing where water goes and the lives that depend on it. Meet the team who keeps Wilson’s streams and lakes clean as they guide us through an adventure in our own backyard!

Check out some of Wilson’s water management projects on live stream

Learn what endangered species live in Wilson.

This is the first Second Saturday Science (S3) event of 2025, and an extra fun Saturday for the whole family with hands-on activities appropriate for ages 5 and up. Included with the $6 admission fee, free for members and Museums for All participants.

We’re so lucky to be a part of such an innovative city! As Wilson’s only science center, we’re excited to work with our city’s Stormwater Division to share the positive steps they’re taking to protect and conserve Wilson’s natural resources. They also offer workshops, classroom demonstrations, and educational fair booths about Best Management Practices. BMP’s are structures or practices that best avoid and/or minimize impacts to water quality from development.
