February Homeschool Days: Food Science

Food Science
Chemistry never tasted so good! In this interactive program, students explore the science behind everyday foods by experimenting with acid-base reactions, pH, polymers, and freezing point depression.
Activities include:
Creating fizzy reactions and jelly-based treats,
Formulating a custom carbonated drink,
Using sodium chloride to lower the freezing point of ice and freeze a single serving of nondairy instant creamer
Students will see how small changes in chemistry can lead to surprising (and tasty!) results. Take-home recipes are included so learning can continue at home.
⚠️ This program includes food preparation and sampling. Families should be aware of food allergies or sensitivities.
