SUMMARY:January Homeschool Days: Decomposers
DESCRIPTION:Decomposers: Life in a Rotting Log – dissection \nWhat’s happening beneath our feet on the forest floor? Students explore the fascinating world of decomposers by examining a real rotting log ecosystem. They’ll observe a variety of organisms—such as redworms\, millipedes\, beetles\, mosses\, and fungi—and learn how each plays an important role in breaking down organic matter and recycling nutrients back into the environment. \nThe program concludes with a hands-on earthworm dissection\, allowing students to investigate internal structures and better understand how decomposers function within an ecosystem. \n$18.00/per participant \nEvery Third Thursday\, \nMorning session 9:30 – 11:00 am \nAfternoon session 1:00-2:30 pm \nRegister here: https://imaginescience.wufoo.com/forms/homeschool-days-spring-2026/ \nRegistration required. An adult must remain with students under age 14 throughout the program. Parents receive complimentary admission when accompanying a paid registrant for Homeschool Days. In the event of additional visitors aged 3 and above\, regular admission fee of $6 will apply. Doors will open at 9:15am for morning sessions. \n*If you have any questions about Homeschool Days please email the education department\, education@imaginescience.org or contact the museum (252) 291-5113 ext 3. \n__________________________________________________________________________\n \n🌱 Dig into the hidden world of decomposers and discover how nature recycles life from the ground up.
