January 14 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join us for Saturday Science fun this year! Starting at 10:00 am on selected Saturdays special guests will entertain you with extraordinary science. Each show is a new, hands-on experience:

January 14
Pop, Fizz, Boom! All about the matter -with Imagination Station Scientists

In one of our most popular programs, in Pop, Fizz, Boom! we explore the properties of matter. Volunteers assist with experiments showing physical and chemical changes, including both endothermic and exothermic reactions. In each experiment we test gases produced by observing how they react with fire. Even adults have a blast!

March 11
NASA X-planes -with the Civil Air Patrol and the Experimental Aircraft Association

Prepare to be blown away by supersonic air travel! The Civil Air Patrol and the Experimental Aircraft Association are coming to talk about X-planes. X-planes are experimental high-speed vehicles, including helicopters, missiles, and jets. These aircraft are used to test and evaluate new technologies and aerodynamic concepts. Visit to learn more about the exciting world of X-planes!

May 13
Digging in the Dirt: Paleontology & Archaeology -with the Aurora Fossil Museum

Learn the difference between archaeology and paleontology and the importance of context as they examine artifacts and fossils. Students hunt for fossils in matrix from the Miocene epoch and get to keep their finds!

July 8
NASA & USGS Landsat: Our changing planet -with US Geological Survey geologists

Landsat represents the world’s longest continuously acquired collection of space-based moderate-resolution land remote sensing data. Landsat is an essential capability that enables the U.S. Department of the Interior to wisely manage Federal lands. People around the world are using Landsat data for research, business, education, and other activities. Join us as we dive into this amazing collection of data and see how our planet has evolved and been documented over time.

September 9
Phenomenal Physics -with Professor Fair

What makes an object move? It is all a matter of physics! We use Newton’s Laws of Physics to explore force, motion, and gravity.

November 11
NASA Artemis: Moon & Mars -with Anastasia Vail, NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador

Artemis is NASA’s program to return astronauts to the Moon by 2024, preparing the way for human missions to Mars. Join us as we examine what has already been accomplished with Artemis 1 and what we can expect from future missions.
