Programmable Plush + Power Bracelets
Engaging GIRLS in computer programming and computer engineering!
The Imagination Station is very proud to offer this special summer camp made possible by Girls RISEnet. It is for girls ages 11 to 13 and will be held August 4 - 8 from 1 pm to 4 pm.
The girls will get their feet wet with basic circuits when they make their Power Bracelets. Each girl will sew a bracelet of her own design, incorporating a circuit that will light up one or more LED lights powered by a small battery.
We will get more involved with Programmable Plush. The girls will design and create a plushie friend, incorporating circuitry necessary to power LED lights programmed using the Arduino LilyPad and powered by a battery.
This opportunity is not to be missed!
Prospective students are required to apply via the form below. We are asking that each girl write a paragraph about why she wants to be part of this camp. The paragraphs and applications will be reviewed by the Education Department at Imagination Station and the girls who are accepted will be contacted directly by the class instructor Jane Stephenson.
Below is our application form. Paper copies will be available at our Visitors Services Desk in the museum for students who need them.
