Summer in the Dirt
June 11-15, 9a.m. - 4p.m.
Spend a week exploring natural and human history by studying what’s just beneath our feet. In this camp we will explore geology, paleontology, and archaeology. Campers will get hands-on experience in each field as they work on projects at the museum, meet professionals in the field, and go on fossil hunting treks. By the end of the week, each student will curate their own fossil and artifact collection!
It's All About Snakes!
June 25-29, 9a.m.- 12p.m.
Your child will use interactive activities to compare their senses to the way snakes from around the world smell, feel, see, and hear! They will compare skull types, locomotive powers, defense instincts, and other adaptations to some of snakes who live at the museum. By the end of the week campers will get to know the important facts about these legless creatures. All snakes housed at the museum are non-venomous.
A Pirate's Life for Me!
July 9-13, 1p.m. - 4p.m.
Ahoy, maties! Join our crew as we explore the world of pirates! Campers will learn about fictional pirates who've come alive in books and real pirates who actually sailed the seven seas! They'll develop their own pirate persona and learn how to read maps, navigate the ocean, walk the plank, and more!
July 16-20, 9a.m. - 4p.m.
Expedition Biomes Your child is about to take an around-the-world adventure through ecosystems! Your child will explore the different biomes found on our planet through games, crafts, and experiments. They will learn about adaptations of plants and animals, then design a whole new species!
July 30 - August 3, 1p.m. - 4p.m.
Ages 5 - 9
Dive into the ocean as we explore the world beneath the waves. Students will learn about sea animals, ocean ecosystems, and how scientists explore the deep blue sea. We'll even experiment with how waves are made!
